Austin Holcombe scores Top-10 finish in Prairie Dirt Classic

Heading into the second led of his trip, Austin Holcombe unloaded at Davenport (Iowa) Speedway on Monday afternoon for the first night of the Davenport Deal.

Starting on the front-row of the $2,000-to-win main event after earning enough passing points, Holcombe was caught up in a early wreck which relegated him to a 20th-place DNF.

The remainder of the event was washed out by Mother Nature.

Finally kicking off his Prairie Dirt Classic weekend, Holcombe qualified third-fastest in his group on Friday evening which earned him a front-row starting spot in the $500-to-win preliminary feature. Rolling off second, Austin battled with the leaders and finished on the podium in third behind Ray Bollinger and Josh Harris.

Locked into Saturday’s $5,000-to-win main event, Holcombe started on the fifth-row and brought home a ninth-place finish after 40 laps.
