Austin Treks North to FALS
The team made the long tow north over the weekend to the famed Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway for the 2022 edition of the Prairie Dirt Classic.
A stout field of 65 Summit DIRTcar Modified Nationals racers s registered for battle at the 1/4-mile oval, and Friday night action found Austin qualifying seventh fastest in his group to earn the fourth-starting spot for a qualifying feature. He went on to race to a runner-up finish ins his qualifier behind Michael Long, which locked him into the seventh-starting spot for Saturday night's $5,000-to-win finale.
Holcombe raced in the Top 10 for much of the feature before crossing the finish line in 11th.
